SEVERAL FOODS THAT PROMOTE HEALTH NATURALLY

“Take Control of Your Health Naturally”

There are many different foods that promote health naturally that many people are unaware of.  Just by switching up our diet a little and incorporating some of these items into our everyday regimens we can help treat or even prevent certain health conditions.

PAIN FIGHTING FOODS

Red grapes – Red grapes contain an ingredient that protects against the cartilage damage that can cause back pain.
Ginger – Ginger can reduce inflammation and help ease chronic knee pain.
Soy – Edamame and other soy products contain anti-inflammatory agents.
Turmeric – Turmeric can bring relief from rheumatoid arthritis.
Cherries – Cherries are chocked full of antioxidants.
Coffee/Caffeine – Two cups of caffeinated coffee can reduce post-workout pain.
Fish – Salmon and other fish high in omega-3 fatty acids can help relieve inflammatory pain.

NATURALLY LOWER YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE

Flaxseed is a source of healthy fat, antioxidants, and fiber; modern research has found evidence to suggest that flaxseed can also help lower the risk of diabetes, cancer, heart disease and high blood pressure.
Blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries contain anthocyanins, which protect against high blood pressure.
Red cabbage, eggplant skin, and purple grapes also contain anthocyanins, which protect against high blood pressure.
Halibut, spinach and plain nonfat yogurt are high in magnesium and potassium which fight against high blood pressure.

THREE RED FOODS THAT PROMOTES HEART HEALTH

Cranberries can help raise HDL which reduces heart disease plus this juice decreases clogging of the arteries by preventing plaque from forming.
A red apple a day really does keep the doctor away! Apples reduce LDL which lowers the risk of heart disease. The antioxidants are in the peels not the juice.
Cooked tomatoes are very high in lycopene which is an antioxidant compound that reduces coronary disease risks.

Angela, thanks for sharing this information. Being strategic with your food source is a great way to maintain health. I don’t have an issue with blood pressure or heart, but controlling aches and pains would be my greatest interest. I had no idea that red grapes would fall in the category of pain relief. I am happy to hear that because I like grapes, but don’t buy them often. I have a reason to get them now.

I have very stiff joints from years of running.  I also use a supplement called Glusosamine Chondroitin that helps astronomically!  I just about can’t live without it anymore…. LOL.

      Thanks for your comments

Hi Angela, thanks for reminding me about all the wonderful plants that can help us improve our bodies and our health naturally. I really liked the reminder about Turmeric. I have a friend with rheumatoid arthritis and I know that this information will really help her out. Personally I really like cherries, but they have such a short harvest period and can be impacted by weather events, as such cherries in my part of the world can hit $30 per kilo (apples are around $4 per kilo at the same point in time). But they are just so yummy, I can’t stop buying them.

I get really frustrated sometimes with the fact that the very foods that are good for us are the ones that are soooo expensive!  Is it possible to freeze cherries or apples when they are in season or dry them so that you can have them at a later date without going broke?  Just a thought……
